Last week I had a great catch-up conversation with a friend, who shared that she made a winter fun list to help brighten the months ahead. (Some of the items on her list are puzzle-making and going to a Broadway show). I had the beginnings of a winter fun list myself, but she inspired me to round it out.
Here’s what I’m thinking:
Reread my journals. This is a project I’ve been wanting to do for awhile, and I think it’s the perfect cozy thing for winter nights. I plan to start with my journal from October 2017 and go forth in chronological order. This might be really, really interesting.
Make overnight waffles. I made these years ago and they were fluffy and flavorful. (Just don’t add the eggs until morning).
Roast marshmallows over the stove.
Get Trader Joe’s latkes for Chanukah, because I won’t make them from scratch!
Re-watch a classic children’s movie, like Chitty Chitty Bang Bang.
See the train show at the New York Botanical Gardens.
Consume a sack of clementines.
Donate blood. Not fun exactly, but satisfying. This time of year, supplies tend to run low in blood banks.
Take a ballet class.
Go on a scavenger hunt at the Met for artworks with a common theme – maybe snow?
And I may or may not get into puzzle-making again, but if I do, this is the puzzle I want.
What’s on your winter fun list?
