This past Shabbos, I was away with some friends and we were cracking up because anytime someone complimented someone else on a piece of jewelry, she would automatically add, “Did you buy that for yourself?” Looks like we’ve all gotten used to getting ourselves gifts. (It’s a good thing!)
For Chanukah, I’m thinking about a cookbook — like The Anne of Green Gables Cookbook — or a new pair of fluffy slippers. In past years, I bought an exercise trampoline and a waffle maker. I also like to get something Jewishly uplifting for Chanukah, so this year I’m looking at a book about encounters with gedolim, while in the past I got a new interlinear Tehillim.
So what’s on the wish list for Chanukah this year? (Here are some more ideas).
