How is it this week? What, where, when? Between now and candle lighting I need to grade about 30 essays for my teaching job, and don’t get me started on Pesach cleaning (yikes), BUT at the same time I am delighted to be heading into a three-day Y”T.
Moments I am looking forward to:
burning six months’ hafrashas challah at biur chometz
wearing my new dress to the seder
reading the Rabbi Jonathan Sacks Hagaddah (I got it last year and read some but there is plenty more – I so enjoyed it)
nieces and nephews!!
retiring to my room when I need a break and burying myself under a mountain of library books
I’ve b”H written a lot about Pesach on this blog in the past, but the themes are the same year after year: emunah, Hashem’s love, yeshuas Hashem k’heref ayin. I need to remind myself of these ideas and bring them into my consciousness over and over. Just because many years have gone by since I started writing about them doesn’t make them less real.
Be”H Pesach will provide some quiet time to reflect, to feel these things, to talk to Hashem, and to imbibe emunah to sustain me for whatever lies ahead (with Hashem’s help, only good things!).
