Hey, everyone. Something small I started doing frequently is turning my phone onto airplane mode. When I do that, I’ll often turn wifi off, as well. My phone basically becomes a clock and note-taking device. Which is fine, because when I’m trying to work or do schoolwork or cook or go for a walk, I really don’t need my phone to be anything more. Also, although I haven’t seen much research to support this one way or another, the radiation emanating from my phone can’t be a GREAT thing and cutting off the supply for several hours a day just feels better.
By keeping my phone on airplane mode for stretches of time, I can be more mindful of when to use it as a phone, like during my downtime, or after a day of work when I want to catch up with the world. I think this small change is helping me have a healthier, less-compulsive relationship with my phone.
