Never Gives Up

I’m listening to Benny Friedman’s “A Yid” on repeat these days. It is giving me a lot of chizuk.

Though it seems like the answer’s worlds awayWe’ve got enough – just enough to keep us goingHolding on to unbroken simple faith

To me, this means that I have enough right now for what I need right now. If I start projecting towards the future, there’s no way I have enough. But now I have enough for now. If that makes sense. And when the future comes, I’ll have enough to keep me going then.

    Yes!
I once heard that Hashem gives us the strength we need to deal with the upcoming day as we sleep. When we project towards the future, we assume we “can’t deal” and the truth is: we can’t. We haven’t yet gotten the tools, people, experiences, and strength we’ll have at the actual point in time.
