Liminal space is a term to describe the place we occupy during a transition, between one place and another. I think of this term often when I think about dating, especially in our system where life can take on a frozen, suspended feeling when you begin dating someone. You’re not available, you’re not committed, you’re just…in between somewhere. And being in between can lead to a lot of anxiety. It’s hard to focus on the day to day and keep living your life. I found this great article from Forbes describing what it feels like to be in liminal space and how to deal with it. I hope you find it helpful.
Very interesting article.
I liked the ‘seven levels deep’ and all the suggestions there.
Thanks for sharing.
A bit of a different take on a well-worn topic.
I find that sometimes having a name for an experience helps it feel just a little bit better (“Name it to tame it!”).
