Journaling

Thank you to my readers and friends who were there for me this past week. You helped me feel so much better. Thank you!

Ok…fun stuff again.

One of the homework assignments from the teleconference series that I’m doing is to keep a journal and write a minimum of three pages each day. I’ve kept journals before, off and on (like over my trip this summer), but never kept up for too long — I don’t know, it always ended up feeling like an obligation instead of an outlet. Determined as I am to be a good little girl and do all my homework, however, I fished out a spiral notebook (green, wide-ruled, slightly battered), and got to it.

The assignment is to write about anything at all, just to write and write to fill three pages. I’m finding it surprisingly easy to fill up three pages within a short time, usually under 20 minutes or so. Writing so freely is really calming. I find that the more I write, the more flow I have and the easier it is to be honest with myself and to put thoughts down in writing. I write about what’s going on or how I’m feeling or things I’m thinking about and I also jot down quotes, excerpts from emails or texts, lists, really anything that is on my mind when I sit down to write, or anything that comes to mind.

Do you journal?
