One of the things I miss most about living in my apartment is making and hosting Shabbos meals. I daydream about getting my own place — I’ve put out feelers but a comfortable and affordable rental is hard to find! I love to plan the gatherings Iād host (will host!) in an apartment of my own. I like the idea of small, easy get-togethers during the week; we’re all so busy and it’s good for the spirit to slow down sometimes and connect. I’d make something simple, like a pan of chicken and potatoes, or a baked ziti, with a green salad on the side — crowd-pleasers we could enjoy while talking and catching up. Dessert would be some form of ice cream — bars, sandwiches, scoops (So Delicious Cashew Milk in snickerdoodle or salted caramel, for pareve). Then we could play this funny game I recently spotted in a museum gift store š .
Or maybe we could do brunch — I have the best waffle maker, and we could eat fresh waffles with maple syrup and glasses of orange juice. Or French toast!!
Ah, let the good times roll š . It’s nice to think about something nice.
