So I mentioned last week that I’ll be be”H enrolling in a PhD program (it feels weird to write that), and for fun I’ve been reading people’s CVs. A CV (curriculum vitae) is like a super-detailed work resume that lists all sorts of professional achievements like every article, interview, and presentation. I joked with a friend that we shouldn’t send shidduch resumes, we should send shidduch CVs which would be so much more interesting and descriptive. We can include categories like:
- all jobs held since seminary, regardless of length of time, importance, or relevance
- a history of gym memberships, start and end dates listed
- vacation/travel itineraries in brief
- workshops/courses taken
- motivational speakers listened to at each age
- mentors at each age
- letters to the editor written, issues addressed
- hobbies pursued, start and end dates listed
- favorite books by year
- recipes mastered
This makes me laugh.
