Hi all, First I just want to say to any L.A. readers that I hope you are okay! These fires are just unbelievable; really thinking of your community.
What have I done??
I recently read Many Lives, Many Masters by Brian Weiss and though it’s…different? than anything I’ve read before, it’s gotten me thinking.
We’re really at the end of the calendar year and I’m pinching myself. This year was FULL of ups and downs, and I’d like to give a shout-out to the things that helped me along (I did this last year, too).
Here’s another winter light: my half-birthday falls in December and this year I’m going to take the day (which is not a work day) to celebrate it.
The “Sunday scaries” are the feelings of anxiety or dread that arise the day before heading back to work (also known as the “Sunday night blues”). I used to struggle a lot with these feelings (Sunday afternoons could feel so heavy), but after learning a few strategies, this part of the week has gotten a lot easier.
This is the time of the calendar year when all the end-of-year lists come out and the goal-setting commences! One fun exercise is to choose a theme word for the upcoming year. I’ve been tossing around a few ideas for fun
Time management writer Laura Vanderkam shared a suggestion on her blog to identify “merit badge requirements” to make vague goals more concrete. Just like Girl Scouts can earn merit badges by checking off steps towards a goal, you can, too.
