I searched Modern Mrs. Darcy, a book review blog, for an old post and found this great one. I have not read the book referenced — 168 Hours: You Have More Time Than You Think, by Laura Vanderkam — but I am absolutely planning on doing the exercise mentioned of making a list of 100 dreams. Off the top of my head, some dreams:
- write a book
- teach a class (a kodesh class of some kind in a high school, seminary, or to adults)
- open an integrative therapy practice
- write a play
- watch said play performed
- visit the Swiss Alps
- visit Vienna
- visit Normandy, do a D-Day tour
- visit the American Southwest (Sedona, Zion National Park)
- visit DisneyWorld again
- own an apartment (this is for another time but I am charmed at the idea of owning an apartment in a doorman building)
- add a few pink streaks to my hair one time (there is a story here too, and I don’t intend to follow through until I am covering my hair so please exhale)
- train in therapeutic writing
- teach a therapeutic writing class
- get a mental health professional certificate from ASRM
- train in IFS
- train in AEDP
- have lots of guests at my Shabbos table
- make Pesach
- take an essay writing class
- get involved in a volunteer capacity at my kids’ school
I would like to organize this into different areas of life and then complete it for 100. Would you do this, too? What’s on your list?
