A little while ago I did something that reminded me how great it is to be an adult. I had an appointment in Montclair, New Jersey and I took the opportunity to drive by 68 Eagle Rock Way, the address of the Gilbreth family in Cheaper by the Dozen. Now in the sequel, Belles on Their Toes, it does say that the home was demolished to make way for an apartment building, but apparently the apartment building has since been demolished as well because there is a private home once more at the address. Although it is not the original home, I pretended it was because from the little I could see it matched the description in the book. This is something I could have only dreamed of as a kid — visiting a location in a book? Yet now it was so easy.
