Hi, all! Last week I took a 3-day course for work and I was so busy (and tired) all week! It’s good to be back 🙂
Recently, I started saying Tehillim regularly with the Artscroll Interlinear Tehillim. If you’re not familiar, the way the interlinear works is that the translation of each word is written below it in a format that makes it easy to read the English translation from right to left along with the Hebrew text. We’ve had an interlinear in the house forever but I only just started using it on a regular basis and it makes such a huge difference! Reading the translation really helps me feel like I am talking to Hashem; more than having a vague idea of what I’m saying, I really know what each word means. It also helps me really feel how Tehillim is so full of expressions of every kind of emotion – confusion, loneliness, fear, sadness, serenity, gratitude, joy, longing – and that there is an appropriate perek for any moment. When I have time, I like to say the perakim for “finding one’s spouse” (32, 38, 70, 71, 121, and 124) or for guidance (16,19, 139). [See the sample pages on Artscroll’s site for perakim specific to different situations.] So I highly recommend buying yourself a copy!
