Hello, all. I can’t believe the whole of last week went by without any posts. I’ve had such a busy couple of weeks and kept wanting to check in here and running out of time every day.
I hope you are having a happy Chanukah. I am having some issues with the heat in my apartment (among other general life chaos) so I have moved into my parents’ house for Chanukah which took care of the question of where to light in my apartment, which I hadn’t solved.
Some friends gave out a Chanukah care package which includes a small gift for each night and I love how simple and delightful it is. This kind of thing is right up my alley. Ordinary delights! The package includes: a velvet scrunchie, hand cream, hot chocolate and tea packets, pizza gift card, mini notepad and markers, socks!, candy, and a scratch-off lottery ticket. Thanks, friends!
On another note, a friend mentioned that their family does a “secret snowflake” exchange and the budget for everyone is $20 and wondered what you can actually get with that budget and I have suggestions. Another friend shared that her family does a similar exchange but the gifts need to be purchased at the grocery store, which I think is a fun constraint.
I hosted a pre-Chanukah party for local single ladies a couple of weeks ago, and tomorrow my cousin and I are co-hosting a Chanukah lunch (we’re not calling it a party because it’s quite small). I’ve had a few mini doughnuts but haven’t yet had my luscious, whole ring doughnut with frosting and rainbow sprinkles — something to look forward to this week.
Wishing you and yours a light-filled and happy Chanukah!
