I wanted to share a short excerpt from M’nucha Bialik‘s most recent newsletter. This really stood out to me as a new way to think about an old idea.
Nisyonos are not tests, like the tests that we took in biology, geography, algebra where we were tested so the teacher can grade us and decide if we passed or failed. Instead, nisyonos are tests for us, to show us what we know so far and what we still need to learn.
I love that. It’s so different than the usual way of framing nisyonos. Nisayon as self-test.
